Mise
Mise en place
pronounced me-zohn plahs
A French kitchen term. It translates to everything in its place — gathering, measuring, chopping and organising every ingredient and tool before you turn on the stove.
Prep books. Allergens. Compliance.
Set down before service, not during it.
Hotels
Adding a hotel here opens it immediately — its own book, chapters, compliance checklist and photos, at its own address. No redeploy. A new hotel starts on the setup code until whoever runs that kitchen sets their own.
Homepage photos
The photography on themise.com.au itself — swap any of these and the live site picks it up in a few minutes, no redeploy. Reset puts the shipped photo back.
Off-site backup
Every night at 2am a copy of every venue’s recipes, allergens, prep, specials, food‑safety records and wedding orders goes to Google Drive (hello@themise.com.au), in a folder called “The Mise — nightly backups”. The last 60 nights are kept, and the 1st of every month for good.
—
Only for when the site has lost data. Download the file from the Drive folder first. Recipes and allergens it replaces stay in each venue’s version history.

Two keys open this door. The one you set here is the working key. The recovery key lives in Netlify as MISE_ADMIN_PASS, always works, and nothing reachable from a browser can change or remove it — so even if someone gets in here and sets their own, you are not locked out. Sign in with the recovery key and clear theirs.
