Cookies Policy

1. What this page covers
This is a companion to our Privacy Policy, focused specifically on cookies and similar browser storage across themise.com.au — the public homepage, the staff prep-book app, the compliance app, and the guest-facing allergen and dietary page.
2. The one cookie we set
| Name | Purpose | Type | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie (per venue) | Keeps a staff member signed in to their venue's prep book, compliance app or editing tools after entering a staff code or chef passcode | Strictly necessary | Browser session — cleared automatically, generally within about 12 hours |
This cookie is HttpOnly (invisible to page scripts), Secure (sent only over HTTPS) and scoped to its own venue — it never carries advertising IDs, doesn't build a profile of you, and can't be read across venues or by anyone other than themise.com.au's own server.
3. What we don't use
No analytics cookies (no Google Analytics, no Meta Pixel, no Hotjar or similar), no advertising or retargeting cookies, and no cross-site tracking of any kind. The guest-facing allergen and dietary page sets no cookie at all — it's read-only and doesn't need to know who you are.
4. Similar browser storage
Separately from cookies, a staff member's device may remember an entered editing passcode in the browser's own local storage, purely so they aren't asked to retype it every visit on a device they've already unlocked. The site also remembers, on your device only, that you've dismissed this cookie notice. None of this is a cookie, and none of it is shared with us or anyone else. Clearing your browser's site data removes it.
5. Third-party requests
Almost everything on themise.com.au is served from our own domain. Two exceptions: the pages that create PDFs (the wedding planner and The Plate) load a PDF library (jsPDF) from cdnjs.cloudflare.com, and the wedding planner loads two typefaces from Google Fonts. Loading them means your browser makes a request to those services, the way it would for any shared code library or web font; neither sets a cookie on this site. If that ever changes, this page will say so.
6. Managing cookies
Because the only cookie this site sets is required to keep you signed in, there's nothing non-essential here to opt out of — so this notice is for transparency rather than a consent choice. You can still block or clear cookies at any time through your browser's own settings; doing so will simply sign you out and ask for your code again next time.
7. Changes to this policy
If we ever add analytics, advertising or any other non-essential cookie, we'll update this page first and say so plainly — not after the fact.
